![]() Your time is spent not thinking about what you want to happen, but dragging NPCs from one spot to another. Compared to how smooth and frictionless the rest of the Kena experience is, these segments are a real eyesore. To do this, we will analyse all graphical options within this Unreal Engine 4 masterpiece, including the game's DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 modes. Instead, you’ll mostly just be enduring these long, painful sequences of getting the Rot to where you want them to go. Today we will be looking at the PC version of Kena: Bridge of Spirits and how to get the best performance out of the game's PC version. Kena: Bridge of Spiritsis a 2021 action-adventurevideo gamedeveloped and published by Ember Lab. It would be less helpful in combat - but the amount of instances where you’re actually using the Rot to fight enemies this way is very, very rare. But I don’t understand why Ember Lab didn’t just have the Rot move to a location that you can control. God Of War and Kena: Bridge Of Spirits have taught me valuable lessons about the art of a good action pal. 2023 games Sons Of The Forest tips and tricks. PC gaming news, previews, reviews, opinion. You’ll encounter this design frequently throughout your 8 to 10-ish hours with Kena, because it’s one of its most common puzzle mechanics. Rather than giving you free camera control and movement, like when the Rot is moving a statue, Kena locks in place around the current location of the Rot in their amorphous form. The physical experience of swinging the Rot side to side or making several, dragging motions towards your character is nothing short of mechanically unpleasant. As you journey throughout the forest, you’ll encounter these flowers with a shining orb: Image: Kotaku Australia / Ember Lab Light attacks are fast but less damaging, Heavy attacks are slower but more damaging, and you can also hold down a Heavy attack to create a Charged attack which is the slowest but most damaging of all. What’s really annoying is the times when corruption is involved. Your melee attacks are your main form of dealing damage in Kena: Bridge Of Spirits. The stuff where they have to move things isn’t too bad - occasionally the AI pathing will get stuck on the corner of a rock or a bit of wood or some random object, but for the most part it’s fine. Along the way you’ll encounter plenty of cute creatures called Rot, which help your journey in all sorts of ways: stunning enemies in combat, flipping random statues, moving crap out of the way and just generally hanging around Kena like she’s their mother.Ībout half of the Kena: Bridge of Spirits experience is dealing with environmental puzzles, and for a lot of those you’ll need to deploy the Rot. Ember Lab’s inaugural adventure stars Kena, a spirit guide, who wanders a corrupted forest bringing it back to life. Unfortunately, they’re also one of the most annoying things I’ve found in a video game this year. Recommended.Kena: Bridge of Spirits is out this week and, unsurprisingly, its Princess Mononoke-style spirits are adorable as all hell. Its beautiful art coupled with an intriguing narrative makes for an endearing and memorable experience that you will be able to appreciate. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a story-driven action-adventure, that is where it shines the most. In summary, while it's rather a standard fare, the combat in this game is quite polished and well-executed. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a story-driven game, and that is where it really stands out. Apart from these things, though, the game's combat doesn't offer anything new that has not been done before. This game features a wholesome and emotional. They are small spirit companions that can offer you support in fighting or help you with certain obstacles that you'll encounter. Welcome to the official Walkthrough and guide for Kena: Bridge of Spirits on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You will also be tasked with collecting Rot along your journey. ![]() For defense, you have a pulse ability that generates a shield that can absorb a certain amount of damage. Your weapon can also be upgraded to a bow later in the game for ranged combat. Using your magical abilities, you’ll fight enemies using your staff which lets you do light, heavy, and charged attacks. You play as Kena, a spirit guide that helps these lost souls to the afterlife. This is due to lingering resentments that they hold after dying from a tragedy that struck them hundreds of years ago. It is set in a mystical village haunted by the souls of its once-living inhabitants, unable to pass to the afterlife. It looks more akin to a Pixar animated movie than a game when you first see it. Kena: Bridge of Spirits features a beautiful art style and design.

The mobile camera has become for many an indispensable part of our daily life and, on many occasions, instead of taking a single photo, we prefer to take several to be able to later choose the best one. Still, there’s a fair amount of pressure at those depths, yet the iDive 300 remained perfectly sealed, and all of its controls worked fine. You’ll notice that the colors are somewhat off due to the lack of natural light during a scuba dive and the fact that I recorded the video using a compact digital camera.īeing a recreational diver, I got nowhere near the iDive’s 300-foot limit, as our dive ranged between 50 and 65 feet. I recorded a short movie, below, of the iDive 300 in action at approximately 65 feet (using a Canon SD850 IS in a waterproof housing), so you can get a sense of how it looks. I didn’t see any distortion from the case’s plexiglass, which is impressive, given its thickness. Seeing the iPhone’s screen also wasn’t a problem, at least not in the water we were diving in, which was generally clear with visibility ranging from 20 to 50 feet. Volume levels were easily loud enough-the amplified speakers did that job with ease. To be fair, reproducing sound accurately underwater is very difficult, especially at the lower frequencies, so the iDive did an acceptable job, in my opinion. I had the speakers clipped to my mask, resting over my ears I imagine that had I been wearing a dive hood with the headphones tucked inside, the sound might have been better. The sound from the headphones is adequate, if not of the highest quality-I found the sound somewhat tinny, with bass response lacking. After testing the case at home to make sure it was watertight, I set out on the trip, still with a good deal of trepidation over immersing my iPhone 3G in the open ocean! How well does the iDive work in the real world? A recent short trip to Cabo san Lucas gave me the opportunity to use the iDive on a real dive, using my iPhone 3G as the audio and video source. In other words, the iDive is more like an iPod speaker system in a waterproof enclosure than a simple waterproof case (which partly explains its higher price). You control your player using buttons-for volume, playback, and menu navigation-on the side of the iDive, which communicates with your iPod or iPhone through the dock-connector port. Inside the iDive, you’ll find a circuit board, a dock-connector plug, and space for three AA batteries (for powering the case’s circuitry and headphones). How does the iDive 300 let you use the touchscreen on an iPod touch or iPhone, or the Click Wheel on an iPod, through the thick plastic required to withstand the incredible pressures at such depths? It doesn’t. The iDive 300’s amplified, outside-the-ear headphones-actually small speakers-are permanently connected and can be either clipped to the sides of your mask or tucked inside a dive hood. Your iPod or iPhone fits snugly inside the case using several included spacers and trim pieces. ![]() Specifically, the iDive protects your player down to an incredible depth of 300 feet-recreational divers are limited to 120 feet, and most “waterproof” iPod cases we’ve tested work only to 10 feet or so. ![]() The iDive 300 lets you use your iPhone or iPod underwater to watch video and listen to audio (you can’t run apps or use the phone). Sounds like a recipe for hours of boredom, doesn’t it? ![]() You can’t read a book or magazine, for obvious reasons, and taking a nap isn’t a good idea, either, as you need to maintain your depth and be awake to monitor your equipment. But if I had 90 minutes or more to wait before surfacing, the surroundings would quickly turn monotonous. I can easily pass those minutes by just looking around at the undersea environment. For example, the US Navy’s dive tables show that a diver spending 60 minutes at a depth of 130 feet must make four decompression stops totaling nearly 90 minutes before surfacing!Īs a recreational diver, I don’t have anywhere near such requirements-just a three minute “safety stop” at 15 feet of depth. As a result, they build up lots of inert gases in their bloodstream, and these gases need to be purged before surfacing so as to avoidĭecompression sickness. For those who don’t know, professional divers tend to dive much deeper, and for much longer, than do recreational divers such as myself. If you’re a professional scuba diver, there’s probably one aspect of your career that you really dislike: the interminable decompression stops. ![]() ![]() (Please contact us for other specific cities within our mobile base.) ) Our sharpened scissors, shears, and clipper blades will cut like new.īeing a mobile business, we are able to offer a special benefit that a lot of sharpening businesses are not able to provide in that our customers get their equipment sharpened and repaired on site while they are able to continue fully operating their business smoothly without waiting for the shipping delays!
